Arise, Sir David Beckham: Football Legend Honoured by the Monarch at Royal Windsor Ceremony
The football icon received a knighthood at Windsor Castle on the weekday. The former England captain, fifty, was one of the individuals receiving awards for his contributions to athletics and charity. Earlier this year, he stated he was “extremely honored” of being recognised in the King’s birthday honours.
Soccer Achievements
The player made his Premier League debut for the Red Devils in the mid-nineties and was a key member that earned a thrilling Champions League final victory in the late nineties when they defeated the German giants with two late goals.
In total, he netted 85 goals and collected honours including multiple English championships and domestic cup wins as a footballer, before retiring from the sport in 2013. In addition to his sports endeavors, he has supported a number of charity causes, including serving as a goodwill ambassador for humanitarian aid organisation the United Nations Children's Fund since the mid-2000s.

Charitable and Other Roles
Last year, Beckham, who has referred to himself as a “huge royalist”, was appointed an ambassador for the King’s Foundation, an non-profit organization established by the King in 1990. In the late nineties he was named most stylish man of the year by GQ magazine and he has posed for brands like the fashion retailer, Armani, and Boss.
Beckham tied the knot with Victoria in the turn of the millennium and the couple have a family of four kids together – Brooklyn, Romeo, the third child, and their daughter.
