I cannot count on a three-year period at Man Utd - Amorim

United's manager - seen receiving consolation following May's European final loss - states he is happy by the investor's continued commitment but underscored that the future is unpredictable in football.

The Red Devils' boss the Portuguese coach believes it's crucial the co-owner went public with his long-term thoughts - but says nothing is certain about the next day in soccer, let alone three years.

During a discussion with The Times recently, Sir Jim stated it might require the manager three years to make a significant impact at the Theatre of Dreams.

Coming in a period when the coach's tenure has been under scrutiny following an extended sequence of disappointing results, the statements assisted in calming a portion of the current stress.

Yet, discussing prior to the hundredth encounter with old rivals the Merseyside club at the famous stadium, the United boss underscored that the future is hard to predict in soccer.

"It's certainly beneficial to listen to that but he informs me constantly, periodically with words post fixtures - but recognize, I know and Ratcliffe understands, that football is not like that," he stated.

"The crucial element is the upcoming match. Even with owners, you cannot control the future in the sport."

CEO Berrada has acknowledged it has needed significantly extended periods for the manager to adapt to the top division following his move from Sporting in November than any person expected.

The Red Devils have secured 10 victories in 34 Premier League matches with the Portuguese coach. They are yet to win consecutive league victories and have not ended a fixture schedule during this campaign higher than ninth.

The dire statistics are testing faith in the head coach among the United fanbase approaching a run of games their team has struggled during for the previous two campaigns.

The manager stated he doesn't sense the uncertainty internally at their training facility and is adamant nothing can match the expectation he puts on the squad - and in certain ways, he would rather the co-owner to avoid attempting to create tranquility because he worries the influence it may create on the team.

"It's not just an item of conversation, I sense it each day," he remarked. "It's really good to hear it because it assists our supporters to comprehend the administration know it is going to take some time.

"However simultaneously, I don't like it because it generates a sense that we have time to solve problems. I don't desire that impression in our team.

"The expectation I place on the team or on myself is considerably larger [than that from outside]. In the sport, especially in big clubs, you need to prove your value each weekend."
